Cornish community groups, organisations and businesses with ideas for an energy or environmental project can attend a free crowdfunding workshop in Newquay on Thursday, September 5.
The workshop will help them understand more about crowdfunding and how this could help turn their energy ideas into reality.
Crowdfunder has already launched thousands of projects all over the UK and raised over £50,000 to crowdfund their ideas. energyfunder will enable people with a great energy idea to ask the crowd closest to them for the funding they need. The community group or individual sets a target for the money they need and explains how it will use the funding. People can then make pledges for small amounts of money in return for a reward if the target is reached.
The energyfunder campaign will focus on helping community groups and individuals.
Potential energyfunder projects could range from a new boiler in the local village hall, to insulation for your scout hut or even solar panels on your community toilets, as well as supporting businesses with ideas for new products or services.
The event starts at 6pm at the energyshare office in Cliff Road, Newquay, and includes an introduction to energyshare and Crowdfunder, a master class on what makes a good crowdfunding project and the chance for attendees to discuss their own project ideas and gain feedback on how to successfully crowdfund their project.
