First Virgin Startup Entrepreneurs to Crowdfunding for their Business!

 CrowdFunding Beat UK,

Mous Musicase integrates your headphones into an innovative, stylish case for your iPhone.

November 20th, 2014 – Virgin StartUp is on a mission to change the prospects of start-ups, for good. In its first year, it has supported 1000s of businesses and helped over 350 to get a loan, get mentor and get ahead.

Mous is the latest business to join Virgin StartUp and has officially launched its debut product, Mous Musicase on Kickstarter. Mous integrates your headphones into a stylish iPhone case and will be available for the iPhone 5/5s/5c and iPhone 6.

“Screw it, lets do it” are words often repeated by Richard Branson and were echoed by co-founder’s Josh Shires and James Griffith this autumn when throwing in their jobs following backing from Virgin Startup. The funding has been used to finance product development and the pair have been matched with a personal mentor to offer guidance and support in the early stages of their business.

Mous Musicase successfully launched on Kickstarter on Friday 7th November, raising 60 per cent of its goal in just four days.

Beyond the practical usage of the Mous Musicase, the team is offering the case in a range of colours enabling consumers to personalise both the frame and winder. The cost of the product starts from £17.

James Griffith, co-founder at Mous, commented: “The response so far has been phenomenal and we’re really excited about this new venture. Mous needs funds from Kickstarter to purchase another mould and invest in its first production batch. We’re hoping the crowdfunding community can help us achieve our goals.”

Josh Shires, who is also a co-founder at Mous, added: “Richard Branson has claimed that the best businesses are often born out of frustration and that’s exactly the story behind our business. People are forever loosing, tangling or forgetting their headphones and it’s these very frustrations that inspired the creation of Mous.”

Mous has been on an incredible journey already, from being invited to Number 10 Downing Street, London, to getting some celeb fans, including Def Jam founder, Russell Simmons, who said: “That’s a super cool product and I want one for my phone”.

Mous is a perfect live example that demonstrates that support in London is live and kicking. The list of support goes far beyond Virgin and Kickstarter. They have been granted offer space by lottery-funded organisation Somewhereto, as well as being shortlisted for the Shell LiveWIRE award.

Now Mous looks to give back to the start-up community this Saturday with the founders sitting on a panel on Enterprise Nation’s Start-up Saturday.
